New Partnerships for Transportation Impact

As a new CEO, I passed an important milestone last week: my first board meeting. I’ve been happy to find that CNT has an active and engaged board, and even happier to find that we continually add interesting new people. Last week, CNT welcomed a new board member: Stefan Gspurning, Head of Urban Mobility for Bosch.

My introduction to Stefan started with a visit to the Chicago Connectory, a collaboration between Bosch and 1871 that provides an innovation space for startups and growing companies dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT). We found significant overlap in our interest in new mobility solutions that can help our cities thrive, and also discussed the concerns with social equity that accompany disruptive change. CNT sees an important role for our organization in the transportation field, building from our analytical strength and long history as an effective advocate for environmental justice and transportation equity. In fact, we just posted a new transportation director position to lead our work in this area.

The Connectory (Presumably before everyone arrives for the day. It was a lot busier when I was there.)

We see potential for many partnerships in the transportation sector – and most immediately, we’re excited to have Stefan join the CNT Board!
