Miriam Savad is a planner and activist who focuses on building inclusive, sustainable communities. They joined CNT in July 2024 as the Chief Strategy and Program Officer to elevate CNT’s influence and impact. Most recently she worked at the Chicago Housing Authority as the Director of Planning, leading the agency’s sustainability and capital improvement planning, and served before that in multiple roles at the Center for Community Change. 

Miriam has experience administering programs, managing projects, and leading advocacy efforts in local and national nonprofit organizations. Miriam is an AICP certified planner with a master’s degree in urban planning from Georgetown University and bachelor’s degree in decision science from Carnegie Mellon University. Outside work, you might find Miriam biking along the lakefront or elsewhere around Hyde Park, where they live with their partner.
