We envision neighborhoods that are just, resilient, sustainable, and thriving for people from all walks of life.

Mission

Center for Neighborhood Technology delivers innovative analysis and solutions that support community-based organizations and local governments to create neighborhoods that are equitable, sustainable, and resilient.

Vision

CNT is committed to improving cities’ economic and environmental sustainability, resilience, and quality of life. We work to help all people access:

  • Shared prosperity through improving economic and job opportunities and reducing the cost of living.
  • Livable, connected, and equitable neighborhoods with better choices in transportation, energy, water, and other basic needs.
  • Resilient communities in the face of the changing climate and economy.
  • Innovative infrastructure that is efficient, cost-effective, environmentally friendly and, whenever possible, at a community scale.

Theory of Change

We’ve created a theory of change that shows how we work toward our vision for enabling and supporting neighborhoods that are just, resilient, sustainable, and thriving for people from all walks of life. We focus on:

Trustworthy, accessible knowledge: We gather, distill, and uplift quantitative and qualitative data, lived experience, and powerful stories to make issues and opportunities easy to understand — and impossible to ignore.

Community power: We amplify the power of organized community groups by equipping them with the data, tools, and resources they need to influence policy decisions, spark solutions, and advance systemic justice.

Just neighborhoods: We work with changemakers across sectors to push for and enable equitable investment and infrastructure to ensure the environmental, economic, and social resilience of vulnerable, disinvested, and gentrifying neighborhoods.
