Working with PlaceMakers, CNT contributed to Doña Ana County’s Plan 2040, which channels growth into existing areas, works to avoid sprawl, and improves transportation options. The dashboard tool, which is undergoing a final revision, provides a suite of indicators that the county can update over time to track progress in areas including transportation, affordability, and economic opportunity. In 2014, CNT also provided the data used in a set of dynamic charrettes with the public to model the impacts of growth scenarios. Overall, this work has contributed to a more sustainable future for Doña Ana County and CNT continues to engage in New Mexico on related issues.
