CNT Welcomes Administrative Assistant Andrea Ruiz

Like many college graduates, I was unsure of what to do after graduation. I had a lot of customer service experience from my part time jobs in high school and in college, as well as experience volunteering with organizations such as Planned Parenthood. I fell into a receptionist position where I learned that I liked working on the administration side of an organization. While I enjoyed my previous role at Radio Flyer, I knew I wanted to work in the non-profit field from my experience co-founding and running a student organization that focused on access to reproductive healthcare.

I joined CNT in late 2022 and have been enjoying my time here, especially getting to help with community outreach on a project and supporting the launch of the new Jacky Grimshaw Fellowship. As a resident of Cicero and someone who spends a lot of time in the city, I see that the work we do here is important for the resilience of our communities. I’m very excited to be working at CNT, and I anticipate that there will be a lot more projects that I will be proud to work on here at CNT!
